NEWAYS SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY BOARD

Neways has established the Scientific Advisory Board as a resource to ensure that each of its products reflects the values described by the Neways Product Philosophy. Consisting of a well-rounded group of scientists with diverse perspectives, the board provides varied expertise in fields such as chemistry, safety, and product development, as well as cosmetic and nutritional efficacy. Throughout the product development process, Neways will rely on the input from these scientists to help Neways formulate superior products that maximize your health and beauty while minimizing your exposure to potentially harmful ingredients.

Wayne R. Bidlack

Wayne R. Bidlack, Ph.D.

Dr. Wayne R. Bidlack specializes in the areas of nutrition and food science with interests in pharmacology, toxicology and biochemistry. Dr. Bidlack has been in academia for more than 20 years as a Professor of Pharmacology and Nutrition and of Food Science and Human Nutrition. He is currently the Dean of the College of Agriculture at California State Polytechnic University. In 1990, Dr. Bidlack received the Meritorious Service Award from the California Dietetic Association and the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Southern California Institute of Food Technologists. His professional affiliations include memberships in the International Life Sciences Institute, Society of Toxicology, American College of Nutrition, and others; he has been a Professional member of the Institution of Food Technologists for more than 25 years. Dr. Bidlack holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry as well as a M.S. in Food Science and Technology and has published more than 55 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 12 book chapters, and edited 6 books.

 
Nino M. Binns

Nino M. Binns, Ph.D.

Dr. Nino M. Binns is an expert in the areas of nutrition and regulatory affairs, and is particularly knowledgeable about the European food regulatory environment. Hailing from Great Britain, Dr. Binns has more than 25 years of experience with such high profile companies as McNeil Nutritionals (part of Johnson & Johnson), Pfizer Inc., Coca-Cola, Tate & Lyle, and Beecham Products (part of GlaxoSmithKline). She was a member of the ILSI (International Life Sciences Institute) Europe Scientific Committee on Nutrition, and is a member of the Nutrition Society and the Advisory Board to the Northern Ireland Centre for Diet and Health. Dr. Binns holds a Ph.D in Nutrition and has served in academia as a Visiting Professor at the University of Ulster at Coleraine.

 
Robert A. Harper

Robert A. Harper Ph.D.

Dr. Robert A. Harper is a personal care expert with more than 25 years of experience in clinical and scientific research, product development, and product safety, in both university and industry settings. Dr. Harper’s specific expertise is in dermatology, including basic skin research and new technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, and has published 38 articles in peer-reviewed journals.

 
KOWICHI JIMBOW

KOWICHI JIMBOW, M.D., PH.D.

A professor emeritus in the Department of Dermatology at Japan’s Sapporo Medical University Hospital, Dr. Jimbow has advised several pharmaceutical and cosmetic companies in the United States, Europe, and Japan, and he previously served on a pharmaceutical company’s scientific advisory board. He completed his dermatology fellowship at Harvard Medical School, and he served as a professor at Canada’s University of Alberta in the Departments of Oncology/Medical Oncology and Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. Recently, Dr. Jimbow organized a conjoint meeting of the International Pigment Cell Conference (IPCC) and International Melanoma Research Congress (IMRC) in Sapporo.
