Frequently Asked Questions
What documentation will I need?
If you are traveling within the US, please be prepared to show government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license) at the airport as requested. The first and last name on your ticket must match your photo ID.
If you are not a U.S. citizen (are traveling on a non-United States passport), please verify your specific documentation requirements with your country's consulate before departing. Please note that non-U.S. citizens may require a visa to enter certain countries. It is your responsibility to be aware of documentation requirements before you travel.
When should I arrive at the airport?
Recommended domestic check-in time is one and a half hours prior to departure. Please call the airline or access the airline’s internet site to check for schedule changes and flight delays and reconfirm recommended check-in time prior to leaving for the airport.
What should I pack in my carry-on?
Due to recent security issues on flights heading for the United States, the Transportation Security Administration has updated its aviation security measures. For an up-to-date list of items banned from carry-on luggage and items you can carry on, please visit: http://www.tsa.gov.
Should I lock my checked luggage?
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) may need to open your checked bags in order to perform a random security screening. If your bags are locked, TSA will break the locks during the screening process and does not assume liability for any damage this may cause.
TSA-recognized locks, which can be opened by TSA using tools provided by luggage-industry members, help prevent the need to break locks. However, TSA-recognized locks are still occasionally broken during the screening process. If you want to guarantee that your checked bags are not forced open, leave them unlocked, but make sure you carry all documentation and valuables with you.
How much luggage can I take?
Most airlines permit each passenger to bring one carry-on bag, total dimensions (22”+ 14”+ 9”) of which must not exceed 45 inches and which must not weigh more than 40 lbs., and one additional personal carry-on item, such as a purse or briefcase/laptop case. All carry-on items must fit under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartment. Airline allowance for checked bags varies by carrier. Baggage in excess of airline regulations will be at an additional cost to the traveler. Please check with your scheduled airline to determine if there is an additional fee. Total dimensions of each bag must not exceed 62 inches, and each bag must weigh no more than 50 lbs.
Airlines charge significant fees for overweight or oversize luggage. Be sure that all baggage and personal belongings are properly insured. Items such as medications, jewelry, or other valuables, breakable or perishable items, and important documents should be hand-carried. Responsibility will not be assumed by the airline for loss of or damage to these items. Please check with your airline carrier to confirm their luggage policy.
Should I purchase trip insurance?
As is customary with group travel, no special insurance has been arranged. Some homeowner policies may provide coverage for luggage loss or damage. You may wish to check with your insurance agent to see what your coverage is and perhaps purchase additional insurance, if desired.
What should I pack?
Pack light, comfortable clothing, including walking shorts, Capri-style pants, light trousers, short-sleeved shirts and dresses. Make sure you pack a pair of comfortable sandals or shoes and don't forget your swimming suit, sunglasses and sunscreen.
What is the weather like?
Expect highs in the low-70s, with lows in the mid-40s.
What is the time difference?
Park City, Utah is on Mountain Daylight Time.
What if I have special needs?
If you require any special arrangements, such as wheelchair accessibility or special medical attention, or if you are pregnant, please let us know so we can work with the St. Regis Deer Valley Resort to help accommodate your needs to the best of our ability. Please note that we will be traveling to remote areas and comprehensive medical services are often several hours away.
What about altitude sickness?
Please be aware that you are traveling to some areas that are high in elevation. Park City is 6600 feet above sea level. Some people who are not used to higher elevations may experience altitude sickness. If you begin to feel flu-like symptoms including headache, nausea, vomiting, and insomnia, you may have altitude sickness.
Altitude sickness can usually be avoided by drinking plenty of water and getting plenty of rest. It is suggested you avoid physical exertion prior to a significant rise in altitude. If you are concerned about altitude sickness, please consult your doctor prior to the trip.
What’s not included that I can expect to pay for?
All personal travel expenses, including optional free-time activities you book on your own, phone calls, dry-cleaning and laundry services, and room service, are your responsibility and must be paid for upon check-out.
How can I be contacted?
For your convenience, a leave-behind card with your hotel’s contact information will be included with your documents.
How can I call home?
You can call directly from your hotel room, but please note that hotels charge substantial service fees. These charges will be added to your hotel incidental bill and must be settled prior to departure from the hotel. We recommend that you use a mobile phone or a calling card and your preferred carrier number to call home.
Have a great trip!
