Neways has established the Scientific Advisory Board as a resource to ensure that

Consisting of a well-rounded group of scientists with diverse perspectives, the
board provides varied expertise in fields such as chemistry, safety, and product
development, as well as cosmetic and nutritional efficacy. Throughout the product
development process, Neways will rely on the input from these scientists to help
Neways formulate superior products that maximize your health and beauty while minimizing
your exposure to potentially harmful ingredients.
Wayne R. Bidlack, Ph.D.
Dr. Wayne R. Bidlack specializes in the areas of nutrition and food science with
interests in pharmacology, toxicology and biochemistry. Dr. Bidlack has been in
academia for more than 20 years as a Professor of Pharmacology and Nutrition and
of Food Science and Human Nutrition. He is currently the Dean of the College of
Agriculture at California State Polytechnic University. In 1990, Dr. Bidlack received
the Meritorious Service Award from the California Dietetic Association and the Distinguished
Achievement Award from the Southern California Institute of Food Technologists.
His professional affiliations include memberships in the International Life Sciences
Institute, Society of Toxicology, American College of Nutrition, and others; he
has been a Professional member of the Institution of Food Technologists for more
than 25 years. Dr. Bidlack holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry as well as a M.S. in Food
Science and Technology and has published more than 55 articles in peer-reviewed
journals, 12 book chapters, and edited 6 books.
DR. HARRY PREUSS, MD, MACN, CNS
Dr. Harry G. Preuss is a medical doctor, certified nutrition specialist, and tenured professor at Georgetown Medical Center. His current research, both laboratory and clinical, centers on the use of dietary supplements and nutraceuticals to favorably influence or prevent a variety of medical perturbations, especially those related to obesity, insulin resistance, and cardiovascular disorders. Dr. Preuss has written more than 220 peer-reviewed articles and numerous other publications, including nine books that he has authored, edited, or co-edited. He has served on advisory councils for the National Institute on Aging, the director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the NIH’s Office of Alternative Medicine. He is a master of the American College of Nutrition and Alliance for Natural Health. In addition, Dr. Preuss has received several awards, including the Charles E. Ragus, William B. Peck, James Lind, and Bieber awards.
Robert A. Harper Ph.D.
Dr. Robert A. Harper is a personal care expert with more than 25 years of experience
in clinical and scientific research, product development, and product safety, in
both university and industry settings. Dr. Harper's specific expertise is in dermatology,
including basic skin research and new technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry,
is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, and has published 38 articles
in peer-reviewed journals.
A. Wallace Hayes, Ph.D
A. Wallace Hayes, PhD, DABT, FATS, FIBiol, FACFE, ERT, CNS, is a distinguished board-certified
toxicologist with more than 40 years of experience in academia and industry. Dr.
Hayes’ impressive academic career includes more than 200 peer-reviewed publications.
He is the editor of the textbook, Principles and Methods of Toxicology, 5th edition,
the premier reference work in its field, as well as the international Journal of
Human and Experimental Toxicology and the Journal of Toxicology-Cutaneous and Ocular
Toxicology. Dr. Hayes is an adjunct professor at Wake Forest University of Medicine,
the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and the School of Public Health
at the University of Massachusetts; he also lectures at the Harvard School of Public
Health where he is a visiting scientist. He previously served as Vice President
of Corporate Product Integrity at the Gillette Company for 10 years. Dr. Hayes received
his AB from Emory University and his MS in physiology and PhD in biochemistry from
Auburn University. He is in his second term as the Secretary General of the International
Union of Toxicology and has served on committees and expert panels for the National
Academy of Sciences, the National Institutions of Health, the Environmental Protection
Agency and the Department of Defense as well as on several international expert
panels.
